Captain’s Report

The 2016 Z4 Tour took the Falcons to new venues, helpfully identified by Butch including accommodation at the Woodlands Hotel, Sidmouth.  Glorious weather greeted us for our first visit to Sidmouth GC, and marked by the Captain’s first Hole-in-One on tour, sadly for everyone else on Adrian’s Hole!

Round Two took us to East Devon GC at Budleigh Salterton, a class course with some special views, and Tudor joining us to make 12 for the day, a Falcons’ tour record.  The day finished with dinner by the sea, barely a stone throw from the hotel and entertainment courtesy of The Great Regano!

While Nigel Mansell’s F1 car had sadly left the building, we were royally looked after by Woodlake Park, nicely setting up the final day at Lyme Regis.  Another stunning course with reasonable weather (our first brief hint of rain came and went with little fuss) and battle joined by Butch and the Captain only to be decided on the final hole with a cheeky chip-in for eagle 2!

The general view was enthusiastic that the tour had raised standards and will remain a fixture along with Shropshire and North Wales (Llyn Peninsula) while experimenting again next year in North Wales (Golf Coast) to be arranged.
