Captain’s Report
Against the weather forecasts, fabulous weather was experienced with the exception of one 10 minute squall towards the end of Nefyn - should have gone down to the Ty Coch when we had the chance!!
All courses were in fine condition, spectacular views with a testing (but not excessive) wind which rather disappeared in the sunshine by the end of the final day’s play at Harlech.
Blagging rights go to Dave Shuttleworth and Dai the Dart for gaining entry to Portmeirion without paying.
Goodie and TG Regano also achieved the same feat, but one of them ended up booking a stay there with his wife the following weekend - so it would have been cheaper to have paid on entry!
Best improvement has to go to The Great Regano who ran out of balls on day one, gained an extra shot for the lowest score and returned the following day at Nefyn with the top score and a shot reduction!!
The Best Mountain Goat Impersonation Prize goes to Goodie for his escapade on the 13th Hole at Nefyn ignoring legal advice to abseil halfway down the cliff face to play what was already his second off the tee and safely bring it back into play without loss of life or limb before failing to score!
Dinner at The Moorings on Tuesday night was a complete success with the restaurant taken over by Melanie from Brittany.
Excellent food in idyllic location.
A special thanks to Butch and Dai the Dart for taxi driving.
